This year we received an email from a man who, nearly twenty years ago, in Minnesota, experienced one of the first iterations of what is now our Loving as Loved module. He heard God’s own words spoken over him through personalized Love Verses, and he saw God’s words in action through God Sightings. According to his message, this encounter with the grace, truth, and love of God was “life-changing” for him and his wife. They later became pastors and carried the First Loved message with them to multiple churches! When he recently found our website, he was thrilled to discover all the new resources available, with even more on the way.
The reach and impact of the First Loved materials have gone far beyond what we have imagined. God continually surprises and delights us as we reconnect with people who have been carrying and sharing this message for so many years. And how can we not share it? We have seen and experienced the glory of Jesus, full of grace and truth, revealing the fullness of God’s love for us!
Beloved, we trust that if you are reading this, you too have seen, heard, and experienced this grace, likely as you participated in a First Loved event. Remember how the Lord met you in a unique and personal way? We have seen this glorious gift of love poured out again and again throughout the years.
Our events are transformational, but they have some inherent limitations. Experiencing the depth of God’s love over a weekend is one thing, but we want to help you deepen your daily experience of being loved. That is why we are so excited to share that First Loved is expanding from a ministry that primarily hosts events to one dedicated to developing teaching and training materials for you to use daily and share with ease. This is a major shift for our staff and resources, one that we believe will produce more and more stories of life-change for people who live far beyond the reach of our events.
If you have received any good gifts through your experience with First Loved, we invite you to join us in extending that same grace to others who have yet to see and know this love. As we celebrate twenty years of ministry and look ahead with great expectation, we ask for your participation once again as we seek to expand our capacity to serve others with an additional $40,000 this year. Community Connections
With the onboarding of our first regional director this Spring, we have begun the process of developing regional hubs. Equipping local leaders and facilitators to serve their unique communities is the most sustainable course for the ministry. And it has the bonus of being scalable!
Product Innovation
Once we publish and distribute our primary modules’ small group materials, we plan to develop additional resources for each module. More activity books, individual and small group options, kids and youth curriculum, training manuals, and special events... The possibilities are endless!
Sustaining pArtnerships
Investing in the ongoing and past donor relationships is a high priority in this season. The 20 Year Celebration reinvigorated participants who had been deeply engaged. Beyond individual and household giving, it reopened conversations with churches and foundations.

For twenty years, we’ve had the joy of witnessing and experiencing God’s love, one person, one Love Verse, one God Sighting at a time.
Behind all of it was grace that was already there: grace upon grace, already given.
