There is an old parable about three men who were commissioned to help build a cathedral.
One day, the architect approached them working and asked the first what he was doing, and he said, “I’m laying brick.” The architect asked the second man what he was doing, and he said, “I'm building a wall.” When the architect asked the third man the same question, he said, “I’m building a cathedral for the Almighty God.”
In this story, all three builders are telling the truth and are all collaborating towards the same goal. The only difference is their perspective. One is focused on the immediate task at hand, one on the project for the day, and one on the vision for the future.
At First Loved Ministries, we want and need all three kinds of builders. We need people who will help us focus on the daily tasks, the sometimes mundane but necessary work that keeps a growing organization healthy. We need people who can come alongside us and join the team of people contributing to the projects and events of this season. And we need those unique people who can see the vision of the future, where all people are loving the Jesus way, who can help us stay faithful to our calling to pursue that vision.
What kind of builder are you?
For the First Loved Sustaining Partners, we are introducing a new tier system that reflects just how valuable each partner is to our mission and vision. We build the future we are longing to see together, and each of us can offer our time, talents, and treasures. The scriptures tell us story after story about generosity and faithfulness; how God uses whatever the person has, little or much, to bless, encourage, and satisfy whatever needs there are.
All gifts that contribute to people loving the Jesus way are gifts that matter. To God and to us.

In this blog series, we are going to lay out the new tiers and explain why we chose to use the 'building' metaphor to organize our partners.
